Recent meetings of the Joint Committee of Notting Hill and Genesis Residents have been looking at the possibility of creating a new joint residents organisation.
There are currently two organisations – LIstenNHH for Notting Hill and Genesis Residents for Genesis
We are looking at registering a Community Interest Company and seeking independent funding to fight for the interests of 170,000 residents of Notting Hill Genesis (NHG).
We think it is important to remain independent and strong against a commercial NHG. The increasingly harsh policies of the Board and Management Team of NHG are already having a serious impact on the lives and communities of residents.
We think that the Board and Executive team of NHG are focussed on exploiting residents to build out-of-reach housing. They are not remotely interested in attempting to solve the housing crisis. They have become part of the problem.
A good example of the views of the Executive Team and Board was the book launch party that Kate Davies threw for her pals in NHG property on 14 June 2018. This was the date of the commemoration of the disaster at Grenfell Tower of a year before on 14 June 2017. The death toll included eight Notting Hill tenants.
While residents of NHG and many others marched in silence to commemorate these who died, Kate Davies and mates drank the night away celebrating her new book on fashion ‘Making Life More Beautiful.’
Please keep an eye on the Websites and the Facebook pages of both ListenNHH and Genesis Residents for updates on what is happening.
